This race is dedicated to Professor Howard “Doc” McLeskey

The Ohio Valley recently lost a valued educator and role model. Professor Howard “Doc” McLeskey passed away from cancer on April 26th 2010. He is beloved and respected by his students. He challenged his students to be ethical and to do their best to gain insight into themselves.
Professor McLeskey received his BS from Memphis State University, his MA from Mississippi State University, and his PhD from Southeastern University. He was Professor and Program Chair of Mental Health and Child Development, Social and Behavioral Sciences. His Influence can be found throughout human and social services in the Ohio Valley. His teaching will continue to live on through his students, who he taught to make the world a more human, just place.
